Expoóptica Pays Homage To The Chairman Of Its Organising Committee, Jorge Cottet (article en anglais)

In recognition of 14 years supporting the fair, a homage event was staged for Jorge Cottet last 9th May at Feria de Madrid
 
The Organising Committee of the International Optics and Optometry Exhibition, EXPOÓPTICA, met last 9th May 2007 at the IFEMA exhibition centre in order to review the results of the last edition (the fair's twenty-sixth edition), which took place between 23rd and 25th March last at Feria de Madrid.
 
The last edition concluded with some excellent commercial results, bringing together the products and services of some 110 exhibiting companies from 9 different countries. The net exhibition area measured 5,968 square metres and the fair welcomed some 6,648 professionals from 26 countries.
 
This meeting provided the ideal setting for the heads of IFEMA, as well as the members of the EXPOÓPTICA Organising Committee, to pay simple and well-deserved homage to the man who has headed the Organising Committee for the last 14 years, Jorge Cottet. This long period of dedicated support for the fair has led Cottet himself to request that he be replaced at the head of the Organising Committee.
 
 Throughout this period, in his capacity as the Chairman of the EXPOÓPTICA Organising Committee, Jorge Cottet has helped to establish the fair as the leading trade showcase for the optics and optometry industry within the Iberian market.
 
The Managing Director of IFEMA, Fermín Lucas, presented a commemorative plaque to Jorge Cottet in the presence of all the members of the EXPOÓPTICA Organising Committee.
 
The marketing team at the International Optics and Optometry Exhibition, EXPOÓPTICA is already working on the preparations for the next edition of the fair, its twenty-seventh edition, which is due to take place at Feria de Madrid between 29th February and 2nd March 2008.
