Mido, the leading international eyewear fair, with the highest number of visitors and exhibitors, is a recognized leader in the area of professional training. Once again in 2005, it offers MIDO Education, a series of high-level professional training courses for opticians and optometrists from around the world.
 
Mido Education opens its doors on May 7th, the day after the opening of the fair, with a program comprising 30 CME certified courses (Continuing Medical Education), exclusively for trade professionals. These training courses were organized directly by Mido, with the help of some impressive partners. They’re taught by internationally-renowned instructors and deal with many subjects of interest to the world of optics, offering in-depth study of the technical and scientific aspects, while keeping an eye on fashion trends, marketing, sales techniques and legal and financial regulations. Doctors, lawyers and trade journalists will take their turn in the classrooms to offer a broad spectrum of training that touches upon all the subjects of greatest interest. Among the numerous topics treated will be courses on eyewear and fashions, marketing and sales, in-depth look at some vision deficiencies, the use of progressive lenses, and on subjects related to prevention of vision loss in infants.
 
This training program was designed to provide a practical approach to the increasingly urgent needs for continuing education among eyecare professionals, in order to keep up with the times. 
 
Partners in Mido Education 2005 are: AIO, Association of Italian Opticians; ESA, European Sunglass Association; Fabiano Editore; Federottica (Italian Association of Optometrists and Opticians); IRSOO, Regional Institute for Optical and Optometric Studies; Istituto Benigno Zaccagnini; Optical and VCA, Vision Council of America.
 
Courses will be held in the classrooms along the balcony of pavilion 14 (Sala America 1-2-3, Sala Oceania and Sala Europa). The area is equipped with a reception secretariat and all the equipment necessary to conduct training sessions. Each course will last four hours (from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 6 p.m.) and will take place between Saturday the 7th and Monday the 9th of May.
The fee for each course is 54 Euros, including VAT. Course materials provided to participants are included in the cost.
