President of the eyewear industry’s leading showcase reappointed

Cirillo Marcolin will begin a new term as the president of Mido -- International Optics, Optometry and Ophthalmology Exhibition -- while also serving as president of ANFAO (National Optical Goods Manufacturers’ Association).
In his inaugural speech, the president provided an overview of the guidelines for the upcoming sessions of the International Eyewear Exhibition. “Mido continues to be the most important exhibition for this industry  - stated Marcolin -  and has proved to be fundamental in promoting and launching new products for companies across the world”. The statement shows his esteem and confidence in the exhibition, which is becoming more and more of an international showcase each year and which has posted good results over the last two-year period.

Slated for 5 to 8 May 2006, at the Portello area, FieraMilanoCity, the 2006 exhibition looks set to have a range of new features as a result of a natural desire to consolidate Mido’s reputation as a must-attend winning event. “Precisely because of the strategic role that it plays – explained Marcolin – the exhibition is an instrument that the international market must continue to invest in”.

Anticipating fashions instead of following them, understanding market trends before others, and always embracing novelties with enthusiasm. This was the spirit prevailing at Mido’s last sessions, when new image, product and professional training areas were inaugurated each time: from Mido Sport to Mido Kids and Mido Education. “And we will be adopting the very same ‘pioneer’ spirit for the new 2-year period,” Cirillo Marcolin ended.
All this means that Mido will continue to undergo makeovers in order to keep providing its international public with an updated range of offerings. A 2006 that is all about continuity in anticipation of a 2007 that promises to have breathtaking innovations in store.

The new Mido board of directors was elected on July 20 and includes:
Stefano Larcher – GB Occhialeria
Cesare Massaccesi – Joint Project
Cristiano Milone – Mirage
Nicola Del Din – Pramaor
