The European Academy of Optometry and Optics (EAOO) has published the programme for its next conference in Malaga (Spain) at the Barceló Hotel, set to take place from 19-21 april 2013. The conference will bring together eye and vision care professionals from over 35 countries to discuss and share the latest research, education and clinical practice in optometry, optics and dispensing, and vision science.

More than 40 speakers will present, including:

The programme includes:
•clinical workshops, including the latest advances in clinical dry eye diagnosis and management and demystifying the diagnosis of the strabismus
•discussion forums, including computerised screening for correctable visual impairment in older people and the potential of social enterprise to increase access to eye care
•case studies, including vision therapy as an alternative to surgery for the correction of acquired paediatric esotropia and sudden loss of vision in a young patient
•academic and research sessions, including dark-adapted visual function in dry age-related macular disease and binocular contrast summation with unequal monocular light scatter
•over 100 poster presentations.
